Altamont Invites You to Win Free VIP Tickets to FYF Fest in Los Angeles!
Altamont Supports Save Our State Parks and the 2009 FYF Fest (formerly F* Yeah Fest)
Join Altamont Apparel Ltd. and its musical family No Age, Mika Miko and F* Up at the FYF Fest to “Save Our State Parks” on September 5th, 2009 at the Los Angeles State Historic Park.
The goal for this year’s FYF Fest is to provide a low-cost event of great entertainment while raising awareness of the possible closure of up to 100 California State Parks. Due to the recent budget cuts, California State Parks are left without basic funding to keep the parks open. Another aspect of the festival is the Volunteer Program which will place focus on educating the public about local organizations whom are working hard to create a positive change in the community.

FYF Contest - TWO WAYS TO WIN!!
Altamont and the FYF Fest are very excited about this year’s lineup and the first two contests. One involves taking the best road trip of the summer and winning a grand prize of $500 cash. The other has you sending a message to the Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger and winning VIP tickets to the festival.
CONTEST #1: SUMMER DAYZ ROAD TRIP
This festival started as an idea I had when I was 18 while on a road trip with a group of friends in Fall of 03′. If it wasn’t for that trip I wouldn’t be writing this and the festival wouldn’t be happening. That experience changed my life for the better. In this spirit I want to make it possible for you to come to Los Angeles for the festival, in hopes of you having a similar experience to mine. - Sean Carlson, FYF Fest

CONTEST #2: KEEP THE PARKS ALIVE
On July 28, the Governor signed the state budget. It contained an additional $6M cut to state parks, bringing the total General Fund cut for this budget year to $14.2M. It is expected that this will result in the closure of more than 100 state parks.
This contest is in conjunction with the California State Parks Foundation and is about contacting your legislative representatives and the Governor to let them know how much California’s state parks mean to you. We are putting together some amazing prizes for those who draft and submit the best stories of their time spent at any of the 279 state parks across California. The grand prize winner will receive a gift bag consisting of records and CDs by the artists performing at the event, a huge care package including backpacks, watches, magazine subscriptions etc. And four VIP passes for the festival. 10 Runner ups will receive passes to the festival.
This is how you do it:

ABOUT THE FYF FEST
FYF Fest began as F Yeah Fest when Sean Carlson was 18 years old in 2004. In 2006, he teamed up with his friend Keith Morris (singer of Black Flag and the Circle Jerks) and together they curated the past three years of the festival. Now in it’s 6th year, the fest has grown out of its original location in Echo Park and moved to the Los Angeles Historic State Park in Downtown L.A.
The FYF Fest is an independent festival booked entirely from Sean’s bedroom in Torrance, CA with help from a few friends. Keith is still a huge part of the festival but has never once made the trip to Torrance (where he was born four thousand years ago) to hang out with Sean (who still lives with his Dad).
Besides the FYF Festival, Sean and his friends (with help from Transmission Entertainment) put on the “Mess With Texas Party” during SXSW. Some of the artists who have performed are The Breeders, NOFX, Gossip, David Cross, Deerhunter, Simian Mobile Disco and many, many more.
FYF Presents also does shows throughout the year in Los Angeles. Please check the “Other Event” section at www.fyffest.com for more information.
